Join the Savannah Bicycle campaign and come out every month to Baldwin Park (Atlantic and 41st) or Habersham Village to join Mayor Otis Johnson, City Manager Michael Brown, other elected officials and fellow Savannahians on a short ride to downtown (<3 miles). Rides will be led by experienced bike commuters, and we will finish at Davant Park (the south end of Colonial Cemetery) for treats from Jittery Joe’s, which is located in the Ex Libris Bookstore.

Downtown Savannah is known internationally for its connectivity, pedestrian scale and walkability. Dump the Pump encourages Savannahians to experience downtown as it was originally planned and intended by General James Oglethorpe. Furthermore, alternative modes of transportation, such as bicycling, buses, walking, and carpooling, can reduce fuel consumption and traffic congestion while providing health, environmental, social and economic benefits to individuals and to the community.
Dump the Pump is a day for us to get around without our cars. Try public transportation. Bike to a friend’s house or to the store. Just walk to lunch instead of driving. Savannah is a pedestrian oriented city with beautiful weather this time of year. Take advantage of it!!
Click here to TAKE the PLEDGE and tell us how you will use alternative transit.
